Description:
The IPS Study Abroad Office helps Illinois students gain a global perspective by providing opportunities to live and study in a foreign country. A national leader in international education, SAO operates more than four dozen exchange programs in fifty countries as well as a dozen or more Illinois courses abroad. The Illinois International Scholars program was established in 2001 to help make studying abroad more affordable for Illinois students.

Criteria:
Interested students must meet the following: * 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA * U.S. citizen or permanent resident status * Study abroad program must be approved by the University of Illinois, administered by any department, office, or college * Involvement in campus and community service * Relevance of proposed study abroad program to applicant's educational and career goals * Awarding of a scholarship is contingent upon participation in the program for which a student has applied. In addition, the following criteria is also applicable: * Illinois International Scholars Program: financial need
