Description: The Florida State University International Programs is committed to providing a quality international learning environment where students are challenged to be learners, leaders, achievers and contributors within a global community. In the twenty-first century students must be able to understand and perceive global change, and we are dedicated to exposing them to international cultures, lifestyles and languages.

International Programs is pleased to offer over $110,000 worth of scholarships annually.

Amount: USD 1,000 total ( Summer only )

Criteria: Interested students must meet the following:

a) FSU degree-seeking undergraduate (not FYA students)
b) 3.0 or greater overall GPA
c) Participation in summer term study abroad program that is focused on language study. (Half of program coursework should focus on language study.)
d) One or more semesters of foreign language study in target language prior to program participation   
e) Previously completed studies in any of the sub-disciplines of Linguistics is a plus
f) Priority shall be given to returning program participants

c) Two letters of recommendation, one of which should be from personnel within your target language faculty and should attest to your desire and ability to acquire proficiency in the target language
d) 500 word essay that expresses both academic and linguistic goals
