IES Gearen Dublin & Developing Regions Scholarship
Description:
John Gearen, a member of the IES Board of Directors for many years and past chair of the Board for six years, is a leading real estate attorney and Rhodes Scholar who is involved in numerous philanthropic causes. Mr. Gearen has generously established this scholarship to support students who have an interest in studying on the IES Dublin program or at another IES Center in a developing region of the world (Argentina, Chile, China, Ecuador, India, or South Africa). Preference is given to students interested in Ireland.

Criteria:
* Open to students who have applied to and/or been accepted to an IES Abroad fall, spring, academic year or calendar year program in Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, India, Ireland or South Africa. Prefernce is given to students interested in Ireland. You must be accepted to and attend an IES Abroad program in order to receive one of these scholarships. * Mimimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 (out of 4.0) required * The scholarship recipient will be required to present a brief written statement to Mr. Gearen. Guidelines will be provided with notice of award. * Return Requirement: If awarded one of these scholarships, at the conclusion of the IES Abroad program you agree to submit a 1-page statement about your experience abroad, including how it has affected you personally, professionally, and academically and how this scholarship supported your endeavors. Once submitted, this statement becomes property of IES Abroad and excerpts may be used in any/all IES Abroad electronic and printed publications.
